Volkswagen has confirmed pricing for the all-new T-Roc, with the completely redesigned second-generation compact SUV now available for sale. The new model combines expressive design, sophisticated technology and everyday versatility, slotting into Volkswagen’s T-SUV range between the Taigo and Tiguan alongside the T-Cross, Tayron and Touareg.

A Bolder Take on a Familiar Shape

Design sits at the heart of the new T-Roc. The second-generation model is longer than its predecessor by 122 mm, with a 28 mm increase in wheelbase adding both road presence and interior space. Elongated proportions, sculpted surfaces and a wider-looking stance give the SUV a more planted look overall.

At the front, a new lighting signature combines advanced LED technology with an illuminated Volkswagen logo and a continuous light strip, creating a face that stands out clearly, especially at night. The signature design line running from the A-pillar toward the rear preserves the T-Roc’s familiar “hockey stick” profile, while more muscular rear shoulders and a redesigned rear treatment add a stronger, more athletic stance. At the back, two-part LED combination lamps are linked by a continuous illuminated strip, joined by an illuminated Volkswagen logo and a bumper and tailgate design that reinforce the vehicle’s wider, more substantial appearance.

Three Derivatives, Three Personalities

The T-Roc is offered in three derivatives, each bringing its own interpretation of the design. The T-Roc Life forms the foundation of the range, equipped with 16-inch Bilbao alloy wheels, LED headlights with low and high beam, black roof rails, Park Assist, a rear-view camera, a 10.3-inch infotainment system and a Digital Cockpit, with ten-colour ambient lighting adding a premium touch to the dashboard.

The sportier T-Roc R-Line introduces R-Line exterior and interior styling, IQ.Light LED Matrix headlights, 18-inch Coventry alloy wheels, sports comfort seats and further technology and convenience features. At the top of the range, the T-Roc R-Line Black Style adds the Black Style package, with black exterior mirror housings, black decorative elements, black roof rails, privacy glass and black alloy wheels giving the flagship derivative a more purposeful, sophisticated appearance.

Lighting as a Design Signature

Lighting plays a defining role throughout the range. The T-Roc Life comes equipped with LED headlights and can be specified with Volkswagen’s IQ.Light LED matrix headlamps, which bring advanced light distribution and cornering functionality, while the R-Line derivatives introduce IQ.Light LED Matrix headlights as standard. An illuminated Volkswagen logo and animated rear combination lamps on the higher derivatives further build out the T-Roc’s premium visual identity, complemented by the continuous LED light strip at the front and rear.

A Digital, Driver-Focused Cabin

Inside, the new T-Roc represents a significant step forward. A completely redesigned dashboard brings a clean, driver-focused layout finished in premium materials, with a new integrated Digital Cockpit placing key driving information directly in the driver’s field of vision. Volkswagen’s latest-generation infotainment systems are available in 10.3-inch and 12.9-inch formats depending on specification, while a new multifunction steering wheel and redesigned controls contribute to a modern, uncluttered driving environment.

A new Drive Experience Dial provides intuitive access to driving profile selection and infotainment functions, and a new multifunction gear selector incorporates an integrated OLED display. Ambient lighting extends the premium feel further, with ten-colour lighting on the Life and R-Line and 30-colour ambient lighting across the dashboard and doors on the R-Line Black Style. Higher derivatives can also be specified with an optional Head-up Display, projecting key driving information into the driver’s field of vision.

The R-Line derivatives add a stronger sporting character with sports comfort seats upholstered in Varenna leather and R-Line branding as part of the Seat Comfort package. The Varenna leather front seats are electrically adjustable with memory functionality, offered as standard on the R-Line derivative. A panoramic sunroof is available across the range, and a Harman Kardon sound system can be specified as an option on the higher derivatives.

Staying Connected and Protected

Digital connectivity sits at the centre of the T-Roc experience. Wireless App-Connect allows compatible smartphones to connect seamlessly with the vehicle, while the larger infotainment system on higher derivatives adds an enhanced interface with navigation and further connected functionality. The optional Discover infotainment package expands this capability further, and USB charging ports offering up to 45W of power keep compatible devices charged quickly and conveniently.

On the safety side, Park Assist and a rear-view camera come standard across the range, while the optional IQ.DRIVE package adds Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring, Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert with an exit warning system, Lane Keeping System with Traffic Jam Assist, and Emergency Assist.

Wheels Matched to Character

Wheel specification has been matched to each derivative’s character. The T-Roc Life rides on 16-inch Bilbao alloy wheels as standard, with a 17-inch Lima alloy wheel, finished in black with a diamond-turned surface, available as an option. The T-Roc R-Line moves up to 18-inch Coventry alloy wheels, with larger 19-inch options available on higher specifications, while the T-Roc R-Line Black Style is distinguished by 19-inch York Aero alloy wheels finished with black detailing as part of the Black Style treatment.

Practical at Its Core

Despite its more expressive design, the new T-Roc remains a practical everyday SUV. The five-seat cabin offers comfortable accommodation for passengers, and a 475-litre luggage compartment provides the versatility needed for family use, shopping trips and weekend adventures. The increased exterior dimensions and longer wheelbase add further interior space, reinforcing the T-Roc’s position as a compact SUV that offers more than just distinctive styling.

Engine and Pricing

The new T-Roc is offered with a 1.4 TSI 110 kW engine paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, developing maximum torque of 250 Nm available between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm.

Pricing for the range, inclusive of VAT and emissions tax, starts at R599,900 for the T-Roc 1.4 TSI Life, rising to R689,900 for the T-Roc 1.4 TSI R-Line and R709,900 for the range-topping T-Roc 1.4 TSI R-Line Black Style.

The Volkswagen T-Roc comes standard with a 3 year/120,000 km warranty and a 5 year/90,000 km EasyDrive Service Plan, which includes a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty, with service intervals set at 15,000 km.
